Po Leung Kuk Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College

Being among the first cohort members of the Fung Hon Chu Gifted Education Centre, Mr. Vincent Yeung benefited much from the wide range of enrichment courses offered for gifted students by the Centre. After receiving a double degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences (Government & Laws) and LLB from The University of Hong Kong in 2009, Mr Yeung then committed to the education profession and attained PGDE (major in Liberal Studies) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently enrolled in the Master of Education at The University of Hong Kong (specialising in Language Across the Curriculum). Therefore, as a teacher, he is committed to developing lesson designs and pull-out programmes to cater for the learning needs of gifted students. Mr. Yeung has designed and taught various gifted development programmes which aim to enhance students' higher-order thinking and broaden their horizons. During the past few years, he has been working closely with the Gifted Education Section, EDB on various lesson and course try-outs.

Through the production of independent films, directors are able to share with audience their critical opinions and views on certain issues. By learning the film language, gifted students can think and reflect on an issue from a whole new perspective. They can critically evaluate the directors' interpretation in the film through film appreciation and critiques. The speaker will share the school-based experience at PLK Tong Nai Kan Junior Secondary College on how to develop a school-based pull-out gifted development programme based on the off-site support from EDB and other organisations and finally bring the content into regular classroom.
